Just wondering among all of us whether your child goes to daycare, if soo full time or part time.. Or does Grandparents help out either with the part time or keep your kiddos full time... Just a little curious.. we have often thought that ashton even spending part time with his grandparents if they lived close would both benefit him emotionally with getting their interaction and also financially with us considering daycare for both children is like $900 a month.. Cant wait to see what everyone does!!

We have both of our daughters in daycare. I spent a year at home with them (ugh...was not for me). We are fortunate because we live in a small town and I know the owner personally. Abby's teachers are aware of her diagnosis and know to leave us a note if there seems to be something going around that we need to be aware of. Financially it is killing us ($870/month for two in daycare here), so we will be glad when our 3 year old is in public pre-k next year! My mom lives nearby and keeps them when she can, BUT has health issues of her own AND works full-time so part-time grandparent care is not in our future.

DS has been at a daycare center since he was 3 months old. Pretty much has grown up with the same group (5-6) kids. He's been in their preschool program since he was 2. We feel that since he's an only child, he really needs to have that socialization aspect -- learn to play with others kids, share, etc.

We've never had to hire a babysitter during the evenings. He's too popular. His paternal grandparents moved to town a few years ago and love having him come over to play. Or they'll take him to movies. They take him to sunday school and church. They live at their lake home during the summer months, so if we need someone to watch him once in a great while one of our friends or coworkers will watch him.
