My fertility medications were about $1,200 (some people run anywhere from $500-3200 for meds) and I was lucky that my insurance covered some of the medications like Lupron injections, birth control pills, progesterone for pregnancy support and some other items I can't think of right now.
The fee to the clinic that I wen't to isn't a "generalized fee". What I mean is that they itemize everything, but they DO, do their absolute best to give an estimate.
The fee to the embryologist was $1000. The fee for anesthesia for myself and for Mark was $500 each. The fee to the doctor for the egg retrieval was $1500. The fee to the doctor for the transfer of embryos was $1200. The fee for the non-surgical aspiration was $700. I had 8 ultrasounds at $150 each, 7 doctors visits at $75 each, 2 doctors visits at $150 each, an initial visit for myself at $250 and an initial visit for Mark at $150, I had 12 blood draws at 10 each, 8 estrogen levels at $50 each, 5 progesteron levels at $100 each, 3 FSH levels at $50 each, A hystoplansyogram at $400, a systo0gram at $350 and some other charges I can't recall now. That right there totals $9745, plus the fertility meds=$10,945.
All in all we spent around $12,500 (including the fertility meds)
Oh, initial freezing would have been $500, 1 year of cryo storage would have been $400 and there is some mandatory testing. We didn't have any embryos left over though.
