They had talked about putting me on that (Fosamax) at one point and then they didn't want to because it would either interact with my medications or mess with my liver functions or something. They are hoping that the calcium and high doses of vitamin D will help it.

At age 30 I was still in the normal range (on the low side of the range though my doctor said) for a 25 year old. I'm not sure why they were comparing me at age 30 with 25 year olds but maybe that's the closest data set they have.

Bone mass is actually the same between age 20 and menopause.

Hi everyone: I am having my second dexa upon discharge.
I did my first probably 6 years ago. I did go on Calcium and Vit and now I will get my follow up.
I met with a endocrine doctor who impressed me with her thoroughness and wisdom, she has ordered me a I.V drip, over a 15minute period, of Reclast which lasts a year. It is a treatment to strengthen bones. I will recieve that today or tomorrow while I am in the hospital. She also upped my dose of calcium. My levels finally came back normal. I went from 10000mg, to 1900mg . Im turning 50 and it is very important to have good bone health. Im also perimenapausal so I have to consider all the benefits to taking Reclast as opposed to the risks of Kidney clearance and what it might do to creatine levels, and such. It seems like a good plan. Side effects to Reclast are nausea, vomiting, flu like feelings. Not looking forward to that but perhaps I will be one of the lucky ones who don't get the side effects.
Isn't it amazing that we can actually talk about aging problems. I love it.
