DIAPER RASH / RED BOTTOM

My daughter is 4 months old and diagnosed at 2 weeks old and never had diaper rash before but since they increased her enzymes 2 weeks ago everytime she has a bm and sometimes just with urine she turns bright red, it does not seem to bother her you can clean her off with not problems, we were just putting desitin on her every diaper change. This weekend I had it all cleared up and then yesteday it came back 10 fold and now it has some open sores and it looks as if her skin is peeling off in some areas, and now it seems to be bothering her. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if so is it linked to the increase of enzymes or is it something else? Also what works the best, she goes to the doctor for her immuizations tomorrow so I will see what he says also but just wanted to avoid another evening where I can not console her.

Yes, Hannah's poor little bottom would look blistered! I did have a Rx for it, but it just has been so long ago that I don't remember what it was called...

And whenever I had the opportunity, I would just lay/sit her on the floor without a diaper on, sitting on crib pad in case she had an accident, and let her little bottom air out. It just broke my heart to see her bottom look so bad<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

This happened with Emma too. We got a RX from the doctor. It is called prescription butt paste. It worked better than anything else.

Emma got what you are describing around the time she hadhe had C. Diff. Has your daughter been on any antibiotics?

No she has not been on any antibotics and we have not changed anything in her diet or brand of diapers or wipes. I am hoping the doctor will give us a perscription tomorrow. This is all a learning experience for us since the older two do not have cf and I love this site I can go and read everything and relate to everyone, I am glad I stumbled upon it.
