You'd probably have more success by just going for a steam, like suggested above. Also, it is easier to cough stuff up after eating a big, full meal.</end quote>

Yes, especially a hot meal. Mashed potatoes are the best food I have found for eating them really hot without burning your mouth and throat. Potato soup is another good option for trying to promote a productive cough. Of course, a really big meal can cause me to also vomit a little from coughing hard. So I tend to go for a hot meal that's not quite so big, then eat more after I have my coughing fit and have spit mucus into the sink or toilet.

you could do huffing.

you do a lonnng hot breath out for as long as you can do it, Like fogging up a mirror. you can use a cylinder (Kj uses the attachment to her peak flow monitor) and you can do repetitions of this till you have got out the offending mucus.

This makes kj cough big time and the huffing really shifts the mucus up.

I hope this helps you

How about exercise? A brisk walk or cycle always helps me

Do you have a mini trampoline? (One of those inside ones you use for jogging)

I always use one of those for a stubborn area that I can't move. A few minutes of jumping and I can cough away the problem.
