My son is only 18 months, and has CF. He loves his two dogs. We have one big fat English Bulldog "George', and small maltese "Lucy". Our son's doctors told us not to get rid of the dogs. I'm glad we kept them, because my son light's up everytime he sees them.

We have 1 cat (who sleeps with my daughter) & 2 dogs (1 of them is a 9 year old lab/dalmation mix who sleeps with my daughter) & a 10 month old german shep/black lab mix who has his own room!

We did have parakeets, but gave them away last year thinking they were contributing to my health problems. They do carry a bacteria that causes lung infections.

I was very upset about getting rid of them. Mostly because that meant ANOTHER thing in my life was being altered, but now that they are gone, I am fine with it. I dont miss the noise or the mess. They were sweet tho!

My doctor mentioned one time to me about getting rid of my animals.....that will never happen. Some people think that is ridiculous, but my emotional/mental well being is helped by my 4 legged kids. I grew up with animals & will die with animals....SORRY!

I might change rules over the years like now no animals in my bedroom. Growing up my animals slept with me.......

Our family has 3 dogs, however, they are outside dogs. We did have Sophie(a pekinese) in the house until Grayson was born. She is very irriated by the dogs. Her eyes get all swollen and red and itchy. At first we could figure out why it was happening but after several trys being around any dog does that to her....Most of our family is allergic to cats, so no cats! I hated to put Sophie outside but she adjusted just fine with our other 2 dogs. Hopefully she will outgrow this but if she doesn't she it more important then any of our animals. Just hope someday she could have a puppy.<img src="i/expressions/dog.gif" border="0">
