I guess I'm not getting what "emo" means.

If it's simply a kid expressing their personality through the way they dress, wear their hair and some makeup - so what. I think it's great that kids can learn about themselves this way.

But when it goes further into depravity, like cutting etc. Then that's when it's time to seek professional help and realize that in their search to find themselves, they are totally lost and without hope. There is something deeper going on inside that needs help.

I can't say I'm without a snicker here and there - but the only type of kid I laugh at in the way they dress, is the guys who wear their pants at their knees - looks like they dropped a load and need their diapers changed. Now THAT is ridiculous!

I guess there isn't a real answer to what emo is, just like rockers and punks and new age etc, each had their cultish followers, and the wannabe's - no real answer into who is the epitome of that group.

Well, I know that all CFers do get depressed once in a while. But I thought to qualify as emo you have to be in a state of perpetual depression, not just occassional periods of it. Apparently a lot has changed since I graduated (and that was only three years ago)!

Emo, Goth, prep, punk, jock, you name it.
I know more cheerleaders and preppy people and such that cut. OKAY?!?!?!

my boyfriend is schitzo and has severe depression so basically ive got lots to deal with among my own problems as welll as me being the omg i want to help everyone person.
i deal with a lot of peoplee.
ive been depreessed for a while so yeah.
but now im doing great.

so i know my share of troubled kids and make fun of em and theyll just become more troubled people are so ignorant to not understand that.
by saying all this about emo kids these people are making them want to do stuff because you guys were mean.
its like oh thanx you know its people liek youu that hate on certain groups that make people have issues they cant help.
