do you wait 15 min. after enzymes to eat?

I take them right away b/c of time you can't always time it exactly to take them 15 mins ahead. But, maybe it would be vital for some to take them earlier-what works for one doesn't always work for all and vice versa. Maybe wait and see if he has any trouble when taking enzymes with food, and if so try taking earlier?
For me, I say-if it ain't broke, dont' fix it.

I just talked to my son's doctor about this last month actually. He's having a little trouble gaining weight lately. She said to take them 15 minutes before eating so that they're already in the beginning part of the intestines when he starts eating. I told her I hadn't known that and had been giving them to him right before eating, she said it's not a big deal but it could make them more effective so to give it a shot. I don't notice any difference. She also said they work for about an hour. Sometimes if we're on the go I give them to him after, or sometimes if I'm not sure how hungry he is I give him 2 then 1 more if he eats a lot (he's supposed to take 3 Creon 10's). But I've never noticed any difference if he takes them 15 min. before, right before, during, or after!

joe has no problems with creon , he takes them before , during and at the end of his meal. we were told that they would burn if the contents of the capsules were wetted with saliva and left on his lips. if you took them on an empty stomach would they "burn" your stomach lining. who knows??

I take it before or after dinner. That being said dinner only takes me 10-15 min to eat. I know when I was little I took them before I ate and the doctor told my mom if I was not eating enough to give them to me at the end of the meal because maybe my belly was full prematurely from the enzymes taking up precious space. This was more of a concern in the 80s when the enzyme wasn't as potent as it is today therefore we had to take more pills. I have minimal digestive involvement and have never (even before diagnosis) been underweight.
