Double Delta F508

I have DDF508 and I am 39 years old. In April of this year my FEV1 was 33%. My health for the most part held its on. I didnt do treatments at home until after my daughter was born when I was 30 years old. My life consisted of enzymes & occaisional hospital admits, but I did not comply with home care.

I have seen my health decline much more since age 30. It might have been in part from being a mom, not taking care of myself over the years or its just the natural progression. When I have exacerbations I am usually in need of O2 & my sugars go haywire. When things are stable I dont have issues with either, but I do have everything for both at home should something arise.

joe has this mutation . he is really well his latest fev's were 88. they are always in this range. he was dx aged 6. he is very active and we think this is keeping him as healthy as can be. out of "the whole cf thing" i'm more worried about his weight ( for now!!!) he is thin but slowly getting heavier. thats the trade off for being sooo active !!!!! take care everyone

Just to clarify (not trying to hijack the thread)... Double DF508 is by no means the "worst combination". DF508 is Class II mutation. In theory a Class I/Class II combo is worse and so is a Class I/Class I combo.

I am. My health has been over all very good throughout the years. I will be 25 in September and my FEV1 has been between the 70% and 80% for the past few years. Since I am pregnant my FEV1 has declined slightly but my Dr. said that is to be expected in any pregnant woman even without CF. I'm doing my best to get my FEV1 up pregnant or not
