Thought of another one; Simply Saline nasal spray 3%. We use at least a bottle of it for each cold, I chuck it if we didn't finish it and Maggie's cold is gone. Costs about $6.00 a bottle but Little kids get lots of colds. Thought of this one cause Maggie started with a cold today, arg, of course we were seen at clinic yesterday and she was healthy yesterday, Arg, hate that.

This is a neat thread.................................

Another mom's perspective to add to the already wonderful list.....

Air freshener- we buy the Lysol freshmatic for Briceton's room, he has to have the continued spray!

Car seats- we have been through 4 car seats in the past several months due to major leakage of runny diapers. You can only clean them so many times before the smell imbeds itself in the seat.

Sheets, blankets, pajamas, and clothes- again, I can only wash things a few times before the smell is forever imbedded. Plus if you don't get to it right away and sometimes even if you do, it will stain. Toss em' out!

Storage containers for all the medications and supplies

Air purifiers- depending on the ones you get, they aren't cheap. We have 5 in our house.

Diaper cream- when on IV's, the antibiotics tear his little bottom up.

I know a lot of these items may seem nitpicky to some, but I just had to compile a list to show our monthly expenses for bankruptcy........it really ALL adds up! From what I have read, CF is one of the most expensive diseases, along with MS.

I even include email, at home and cell, as we correspond with clinic/dietician a lot through email.

AMEN on the diaper cream! They should sell industrial strength diaper cream in economy sized tubs to CF families!

This is a fascinating list and I can't believe how many times I have nodded in agreement. No wonder we can't afford to go on vacation!
