starting yesterday Brandon had bms with every feeding, leaving him with a horrible diaper rash. I called the dr. and told her what was going on and she sid she thinks he has stomach upset and to give him pedialyte with rice ceral and to half strength his formula. He had trown up once but I think that was from gaging on his enzymes. ..To me its like before he stred on enzymes ho the bm looks and how frequently it is. They checked his dosage last time he was in and said he was in between and to call in two weeks after switching from rice ceral to oatmeal to see if that help with his gas issues... I just an not really seeing this as stomach upset. I just don't know what to think.. anybody have any suggestions?

It is so hard when they are babies to figure out what is going on. Did you call the CF doctor or just a regular pediatrician about the frquent bm's? How old is your baby? For the diaper rash, I would try to air out his little bum if you can, then I would use zinc oxide ointment or something like butt paste to protect his skin. I never started either of my children on solids til they were 5-6 months old, so not really understanding the rice cereal idea...as that would be hard on digestion. It could be your baby is going through a growth spurt and may need increase in enzymes. Course I'ld check with the CF doc or nutrionist first.

okay so I have been reasearching online and tell me if this sounds right....
From what I read to much enzymes is normally the result of more poo. and not enough is when they are contipated. Lately Brandon has been not finishing a bottle in one siting and has been wanting to eat alot and burnning out, so I guess it would make sense that he isn't taking enough in for the dose of enzymes. I try hard to get him to finish a bottle, and then 2 hours later he decided he is hungry again so we try again..
I guess I will try to make him wait till longer to eat so he will finish a feeding. He won't even drin k the pedialyte he just spits it out.
