How does his poo look? If my son didn't have enough enzymes his poo was loose and oily, almost diarria like. He never had a problem with constipation. Maybe he's not on the right enzyme, it took the drs awhile to figure out which enzyme worked best for my son and to get the dosage right.

Well... it's been ages since I had to think about bottle feeding a baby, so forgive me if this sounds like a stupid suggestion/comment.....

but when you mention that he isn't finishing a bottle and burning out, what came to mind for me was - is the opening of the nipple too small? Maybe with the cereal added in, it would be thicker... maybe he is having to work too hard to get it out of the bottle. I can remember taking a hot sewing needle to the nipple to increase the size of the whole, or I think they sell ones that have more of and X cut in them instead of a whole so more comes out the of the nipple.

It's probably not the entire solution for you as I'm sure it has nothing to do with the poo problem, but perhaps it will help with his ability to finish eating.

I have cut x's in the nipples already.. I think either way it goes its got to be an enzyme issue.. I know what stomach upset is and this isn't it.
I am not happy with the feeding options they have reccommended for my son.. I think after all this I am just going to be a mom first and I know him better than they do on the day to day.. I obviously know that the treatments and medicines are totally their thing but they don't seem to listen to me. they don't want to increase his enzymes even though for 2 weeks now he has had several issues that have suggested so,, the dr., even said they needed increased but then when they calculated for his age and weight he was in between and they don't wan't him to be getting to much either.

I don't know if this helps any but I know how how you feel. When Ben was 2 months we were going through a large pack of diapers every 2 days. He is 4mths. now. He has always had serious BM issues. (still will cry 80 percent of the time when he has a BM) At this point when he doesn't go after a bottle we start to get nervous. Now that he is 4 mths. and we have been able to add more and more real food it seems to be helping the texture of his BMs atleast. The cf center told us at two months to start to add the rice cereal to his bottles (to help with hunger; he would eat non stop every hour)and also increased his enzymes to two per feeding. We do a tsp. of rice cereal per ounce of formula. We also feed him baby applesauce and bananas. He takes prevacid to help with the vomiting. We also have a prescription diaper rash cream to help when he starts getting red. If we don't change his diaper the minute after he goes he gets irritated. He's gaining weight so the CF center said not to worry about all the BMs but they did schedule us to see a GI doctor and are sending him for an ultrasound of his abdomen to make sure they aren't missing anything. I hope your little guy starts to feel better soon, I know I can't wait for my son to start to talk so he can tell me what hurts!
