that sounds alot like Brandon. the dr. still just thinks he is sick. I know that he is not so today I went on a mission. against what the dr. has told me I took him off the enfamil with iron and off the oatmeal. I put him on gaots milk with rice cerael and am using an organic papya puree to administer the enzymes, because they are easier to digest and have natural enzymes in them.. His diaper rash isn't better yet because it was raw skin, but the bms aren't so greasy and acidic. his mood seems so much better already too.

Have you tried Simply Thick Nectar to thicken up the bottle instead of rice cereal? My daughter has severe GERD so they have us thicken her formula. We tried rice cereal but it upset her stomach too much. The nectar doesn't have any calories and is easy on her stomach.

As far as the rash we have tried desitin and butt paste, but I read a post here and tried Critic Aid. Love it! Our 6 mo had a raging burn on her butt and this cleared it up in 2 days! We also gave her a lot of naked time to help air it out, but it sounds as though you are already doing that. If you are interested in the Critic Aid - just ask your pharmacist and they can usually order it for you. It is not a prescription.

I hope this helps!

I think your mothers intuition is leading you the right way. If his stools are nots so greasy then that means he is getting his food digested better. Maybe creon is not the right kind of enzyme for you, the way my pedi pulomonogist explained the enzymes is that each brand has a different make up different kinds of enzymes in them and sometimes when one is not working a different one would work great. Or maybe he's just not getting enough. I know when I quit breast feeding Dan that is when he got all the greasy stool, why? I think its because he could digest breastmilk better than formula. Another thing, you son might have a yeast infection on his bottom, that could be further agrivating his sore bottom. Dan got bought of that when he was having enzyme issues.

I will bring that up in his next appt. if the dr. doesn't. ( about the other brand or increase) I still had some meds from the hospitol from after I gave birth to him was doing the hydrocortizone per dr.'s orders and that really wasn't doing a whole lot so tonight I pulled out the dermablast and sprayed his bum. between that and some air the rash went away in an hour and all that are left are the spots that were raw.
