I still pay twice as much everyone here! Prices here have always been crazy but have gone up a lot too. They have gone down about 5 cents I think a liter now... but you should see my post above..... Then you'd feel lucky you are in the States haha

After paying rent and bills each month I used to have 100$ to pay for gas and "other things." Usually it would be 20 for gas, 80 leftover. Now it's 80 or MORE for gas, and essentially nothing leftover. I'm sure eventually it will become so that I can't afford to drive to see my doctor or pay copays on meds.

Here in PA is 4$ last time I checked. :/ And yes, the people in other countries that say "oh you barely pay anything for gas, stop bitching blah blah" - well, most of you don't have to pay for your healthcare like we do. I'd much rather pay more for my gas and not worry about healthcare.

As an adult, almost everything is somehow "CF related" for us since we are so constrained not only by money but by our health. Suddenly going to a smoking relative's house is ontopic, job choice is ontopic, diabetes is ontopic... the list goes on and on. Basically 99% of things that other people take for granted, usually has some impact on the ability for us to take care of ourselves, in this case, another expense on top of our already huge expenses.

I would be very sad to read if some of the people that live far away from their clinics are going less because of the gas prices. Are you guys? Or are you just eating the huge costs?

It costs me about half of my tank to get to my hospital and back.. Still I go. I need that care.

Oh I don't now if that comment from above was meant for me? It's just that I think it's a really really big price difference. That what I wanted to say...
And I pay 120 euro a month for my health insurance though and about 20euro a month for vitamines and other things not covered, just to say our healthcare is not free like in the UK for instance..
And yes I really hate the system you have in the States. It's just madness that people in the richests country in the world can't get the proper care they need. (Sorry to go offtopic).

Oh, no, the comment wasn't directed at you. I just meant that in general, other countries might have higher gas costs, but you have less healthcare costs (or none, like in the UK).

Half a tank to get to your hospital, yuck.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't mean to go offtopic about healthcare and stuff, I'm just going back to what I said about our care being a balancing act between resource availability (doctors, clinics) and our ability to actually get it (out of pocket money, insurance)... and for me specifically right now, these are two of my biggest expenses each month, my healthcare and gas. Well and food... I eat too much.
