I really don't know what to say, Lilith. I am really very sorry. I am. You seem a little angry and I wish I could find the perfect thing to say to make you see things as not being so black and white or so humorless. Personally, I have never had to experience that whole restaurant scenario. My son loves restaurants and behaves accordingly. Although I personally don't think spanking in public is ever a good idea, I do get what you are saying. I guess I just take it as one of those things that come with motherhood. You learn to laugh it off at times in order to protect what little sanity you have left at that point. You can never predict a small child meltdown, you hope and pray that you can at least scarf down some food before it hits full force. And if some little bugger is making faces at me over the back of his seat, I usually make them back...but I guess I am just immature (at 30 years old, lol).

Yes, it's possible. I'm just saying. There are parents that do that too. Ever seen My Super Sweet 16? It's a show on MTV, check it out and you'll see what I mean. Hah...

Oh my God, that show is appalling. Oh, and when did MTV stop playing music videos? I must really be old if I can remember when Music Television actually had music on tv. I feel cheated when I watch that show. My sweet sixteen was in my parents backyard and my big present was a 1975 Plymouth Valiant that my Papa gave me. I can't say for sure, but I guess with having money comes the bigger opportunity to screw up your children, of course I can't say for sure because I didn't grow up "having money" and I certainly don't have much now.

As for kids and the topic of parenting, I think it all comes down to differences in philosophy...Personally, there isn't much that I don't find humorus to some degree but then again, I take happy pills....

Contrary to popular belief, I am not an angry individual. Opinionated, yes. Stubborn as a mule, yes. But not angry. And this just happens to be a topic I feel strongly about. I'm sorry if I came off a little harsh, I just felt attacked by your comments.

LOL! Am glad that you are one of the parents that can take things in stride, as I believe that to be important, too. Don't get me wrong, I know you can't predict kids. It just irks me when parents ignore their kids and hope that they stop, especially when the child is being EXCEPTIONALLY loud/obnoxious. One of my peeves, I guess. I suppose what I'm boiling things down to is this; its not even so much about public tantrums and the like as it is about kids being mistreated/ignored by people that don't deserve to have them. I know an awful lot of people that don't seem to care about their kids (my boyfriend's mother included, as she is a real b*tch to him), and I just find it sad for the children that have to suffer because of unfit parents. That's all I'm really getting at with my passionate replys to this thread.

I thank you for considering my side of the coin, as I have considered yours. Thanks for showing me the other side.

Edited to add; I agree, Paris is a skank...and I hate that "Sweet 16" show...omg...

Whatever. I just wonder why, if you hate the topic, you waste your time on it. Do what you like, it doesn't effect me.
