I saw this on another CF site :

Make sure to tune in to ABC's "The View" on Fri., Dec. 22, when 12-year-old
Stephanie Shafir shares the stage with Rosie O'Donnell. Shafir, who has cystic
fibrosis, tells her story and gets a surprise visit from the cast of "Rent,"
her favorite musical. Stephanie, who wants to be an actress, also gets to meet
heartthrobs Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox, as well as Anthony Mackie and
Kate Mara.

The Shafir family are active volunteers and supporters of the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation. Stephanie and Rosie became well-acquainted at the recent A Matter
of Life and Breath gala in Manhattan, where Stephanie was a featured speaker
and Rosie was the co-emcee.

Thanks! I usually watch The View (well, the hot topics at least), so today I'll stick around a little longer.

So I am not sure what I thought of it. I don't think they explained what it was very much or talked enough about what goes into it. Also, I didn't like how she said a cure would come in our lifetime. I don't think that is true and also, I think it makes it so people are more likely not to give money to it because they don't think it is important. But that's just my opinion

I agree Sue. I dont think the segment was long enough...lol. You would need like 127 segments that long to really explain it. I also agree with your cure thing. I do like Rosie, but I dont think she should have said that. yes they have come very far in treating the disease...but its so complex, and will take a very long time for that cure to come along. hmmm...
