I feel a bit like a broken record, but I can't stress enough how much you have to be your own advocate. Know your disease, know your medications and the pros and cons of each treatment. I often find that culture results come back and nobody gives them a good look.

I remember the first time I cultured PA. Nobody flagged it because they assumed I had cultured it previously. It was only caught and treated because I called and asked about the lab results and my culture/sensitivity.

Tip: Make sure they give you actual numbers, not "everything is normal".

As good as some of our CF docs are, they are human and subject to mistake. Nobody knows your body better than you do and you are ultimately the one responsible for your well being.

Having said that, I feel badly that you are having to go through this. Hopefully this will be a lesson for us all that we need to take a very active role in our own healthcare.
