Well, after 9 months I got transplanted.Hooray! The first 2 weeks were great and I had a o2 sat at 96. Now at week 3 1/2 I have sats around 92 and am short of breath. I am scheduled for a bronch tomorrow. Anyone else have this? I guess it's pretty normal? Just curious and would like to hear from anyone with similar situation. Thanks!

Hey there. Congratulations on your transplant! I had a double lung and liver transplant 19 months ago and am doing great. I had a couple of run ins with rejection in the first 6 months so that might be what you are experiencing. I do not remember if I had any symptoms for mine. The doctors had found it when they did my routine bronchs. I can tell you though that SOB and lower O2 levels are two symptoms of rejection. If this is the case (and it is acute) they will have you on three days (normally anyway) of Solumedrol, which is not fun. I dreaded the three days of Solumedrol but it worked and the rejection went away. I now saturate at around 99%, my FEV1 is 94%, and I have no SOB.

I really hope that things go well for you. Let us know what happens!

Congratulations on getting your transplant!

I had acute rejection about 2 weeks post transplant.
My sats stayed behind. About 92% and my bloodlevels were not bad at all but not as perfect as could be.
They started me on 3 days of Solumedrol and that did the trick. I felt the difference after the first day.

Another difference that I felt is that I didn't have pressure on my chest anymore. I was only very short out of surgery so thought that might have been normal so I never mentioned it. I did when I felt it was gone and my doctor said that could have been a symptom too.

I hope they will find something in your bronch that they can treat so you'll feel better again soon.

Congrats again <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
