Help - Stroke Like?

I would be curious to know if it was isolated to either the right or left side of your body. When something goes on in your brain, you will notice one side of your body becoming affected. For example, if you have a right hemisphere stroke or TIA, your left arm or leg may be affected and even only one side of your face. Just FYI.

Wow- thanks, I have so much to look into. But I'll definitely start looking into getting a CT or MRI asap.

Skye - The more I think about it, it was my left side. It was my left arm that was hard to move, and seemed hard to control when I did move it, and it was my left knee that was numb for the next hour. Even when I was having trouble sitting up, I kept laying back down, it was to the left -- like the left side of my back felt funny. It was so unreal though, because for a few minutes, I was just so confused and scared, that I hardly knew what was going on.

I'll definitely check it out and keep you all posted... Oh! There are always new fun twists and turns with this disease, aren't there? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Thanks again for the advice & well wishes,
Kris

I had another thought too -- maybe get a full panel blood test to check all your levels, in addition to a CT and MRI, etc.

I've known of odd symptoms (stroke-like symptoms) related to taking too much of an everyday or over the counter type thing. For example, if you take too many tums consistently for too long, your calcium could get extremely out of balance and stroke-like symptoms could occur (a family member of mine went through this example). I'm just bringing this odd possibility up to point out that it could be so many things, so have them check all the basics.
