When i was a teen i had a lot of stomach aches for unknown reasons. I also had some "heartburn". I had been to a few Dr.s for it and had many tests done to see if there was a ulcer etc. and there never seemed to be any problem, but the one Dr. said i am going to treat this as if you do have an ulcer and he prescribed Zantac. Poof....pain completely gone . The Zantac worked for years but stopped working for me at some point so i was switched to Prilosec and that did wonders for me also. Then my insurance told me they will no longer pay for it and i was switched to Prevacid and that is what i am currently on for the past 5 or 6 years now.

I have had sharp pains in my stomach a lot. This was before i had my transplant. I don't know if it was reflux. But it was right under my sternum and i would feel it coming and getting very bad very soon. Eating only a few bites of something did the trick for me. So i do think it might have been acid, but i don't know if i had reflux too. I would just feel it burning very bad. Most of times it happened was in the morning when i hadn't had anything to eat yet.

I am on Omeprasol(20mg) now, that's standard post transplant. I haven't had it anymore. I don't know if that is because of this med or because i am just 'feeling better'. But i think Omeprasol does it for me.
