Hernia?

lotsa hernias. had an inguinal hernia when I was younger, had that fixed. Had an incisional hernia repaired a couple years ago. Now got two more incisional hernias, one almost right on the old one, one at the top of a scar right below my sternum. They both bother me all the time, but no strangulation yet, so trying to get some other gi issues taken care of before fixin the hernias. I think I may be getting another inguinal hernia as well now.. crap

I had an umbilical hernia start when I was in college about 5 years ago. It started off small and then got progressivley larger. It felt like it was right above my belly button and whenever I coughed, it would pop out and I'd have to push it back in. It got aggravating enough doing this, and when i had a bad cough I almost couldn't push it back in, so that prompted me to see a surgeon to have it repaired and am very thankful I did. I have about an inch scar right over my belly button and they used mesh to reinforce it- haven't had any problems since my surgery and that was about a year ago.

I had an inguinal hernia from coughing. They repaired it using the mesh but it did not hold and now I have bilateral inguinal hernias(again from coughing). I have had them for about 10yrs and have not had them repaired as they generally do not bother me. Sometimes they will ache a little but not enough to go through the surgery(and recovery which was horrible due to coughing). I swear that was worst than the surgery itself.
