Hey Joni! As we all know CF is not the easiest thing to deal with...all the daily treatments, IV's, eating and everything else just to keep us healthy. Sometimes we do all the stuff we are supposed to do and we still don't feel better and that can for sure get us down. I keep reading about people who get IV's and then a month later they are back on them..that is just tough..and they are tough too!! We are all tough, we know all the statistics and read up on stuff and yet we still do our treatmens each day and do what we have to do to keep us feeling good. We will do whatever it takes to help us feel better and be able to keep ourselves going each day.
For me my family has always been the most supportive people ever..our motto is "laughter is the best medicine." It is true especially for me..I do not go a day without full out laughing(couughing)..when we used to fall down my mom would laugh (not to be mean..sounds crazy) and then if I saw her laugh I would laugh and I'd forget about my scraped knee. I try and surround myself with people who make me laugh and make me feel good. Sometimes I do break down after reading about something, or I have some anxiety about my life and what is going to happen to me..I then suck it up and think about what I am doing to help myself and everyone else living with CF.
Whenever I'm down I try to find something that really makes me laugh or keep me going. CF sucks flat out but we have to deal with it, there's no way around it. Just stay positive and laugh, a lot!
