Definitely an interesting topic.
I can pick out the sicker CFers in the waiting room if I hear them talk for sure. They have sort of a nasally high sounding voice and talk with a certain cadence... do you guys have any idea what I'm talking about? Anyway, I don't think I have that yet but I do breathe pretty heavily even at rest. So, Zoe's mom, don't feel bad! It's pretty normal for us, I think we breathe heavily even if we are relatively well, just to get more air, out of habit.
Another thing I notice, and wonder if anyone else does, is that I take a huge breath every so often. It's like a sigh almost, or a big gulp of air. People always think I'm sighing at them, but I'm really just trying to get extra air!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"></end quote></div>
I hear myself when I am at clinic & other patients talk. Its really weird....the same nasally sound LOL!
BTW I also do that deep breath/sigh type thing. Not all the time, but I know what you are talking about.
