Interesting... and annoying!! Lol. Thanks for your replies, and thankfully I already have ten days of abx to clear it up. I guess that because I am mild and because I have always though of chest infections to be when I literally can't stop coughing, get a fever, lose my appetite and feel very wheezy ect, I don't recognise the low grade ones after lingering colds, and that's probably what causes me to get that drop. And also since the pfts are so high anyway, it wouldn't make me out of breath.

The squeak is in both lungs now so I'm glad we've started abx anyway as it's generally the plugs that get bad eventually. Not on pulmozyme, but maybe will start it over winter depending on how I go. I do nebbed colostin though so I'm guessing that keeps on top of bugs better than just abs as and when.

Hey Guys, thought I'd update you...

I am much much better now, and therefore very glad that I was (forced) started on abx when I was. The second day of taking them I was getting blood up with the coughs, and coughing quite alot even though I was not ill per se.

I don't need to go back to clinic until mid november, so we'll see how the pfts have gone up then, which I'm sure they will have.

I do STILL have that exact same squeak going on though, which is so odd since everything else I cough up (if at all) is nice and loose. And I am back to training in gym or running everyday for at least 30 mins to one hour, with the only effect being that the squeak gets louder for a while as it it's moved up, then goes back to not being there again!! Arf.

Ho hum, hope you'll all going well!

I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Do you use anything for inflammation? Some of the squeaking could very well just be from inflammed airways. Have you been told you have an Asmthatic component to your CF? I think most CFers do or develop it since the airways are always under attack.

Its just something else I would look into since you "feel" ok, but FEV was down etc.

Hey! Thanks again for the input, and yes you're right, I do have asthma too. Infact that was my 'main' problem for years before diagnosis when I was little.
I take symbicort 400/12 which is budesonide and formoterol in case it's different in the U.S.A.

I definately didn't need additional steroids this time though, as the wheezing and tightness have improved alot.

Hmm, onwards and upwards I spose, things on the mend so since I'm fine i'll try to not get paranoid! xxx
