I was breastfed, i don't know for how long exactly, my sister was born a little over 2 years after me, it might have been till her birth or close to it. But i'm not sure.

My health hasn't been the best, the first few years were ok though. But i was in the hospital (or on home iv's) a lot from when i turned 4. My lungfunction rapidly declined and was 35% by the time i was 7 or 8.</end quote></div>

Which makes me wonder, how (if any) would your situation be different if you were a formula baby vs being breastfed like you were. Of course that's impossible to know, but still curious.</end quote></div>

Maybe it would have been even worse?.. But then again Jessi (like she posts) wasn't breastfed and here health has been very good up untill last year...

I really have no idea.

I wasn't breastfed and I"m doing great. Never been hospitalized and my PFTs are always in the 100-110% range. While it's an interesting topic to look into, there are way too many variables to ever come to a conclusion <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I was breastfed for a very short period of time (like a week or two). My mom discovered I wasn't really eating/gaining enough on booby. So they bought that really nasty fattening and pre-digested formula, Pregestimil. I think that's what it was called.

I have 3 boys who do not have CF and I nursed the first two for about 3 months. Both of them were sickly. The oldest one was hospitalized twice for pnuemonia before he was 2 and was tested for CF. No CF but he does have asthma.

The second one also had respriatory issues and very small and sickly.

The third one I formula feed. He did ok but was hospitalized at 3 mos with repiratory problems. And has allergies.

The two boys I have custody of are Austin 6 with CF. He was a bottle fed baby. Kaydan who is 2 was also bottle fed and he has Asthma and respiratory problems.

So Figure that one out in your theory and let me know what you think LOL!

Asthma and allergies run big time in my family.
