How many of you were breastfed?

I was breastfed for I'm sure a long time. I have done very well up until the last couple of years. Interesting though, I always assumed I was for sure allergic to something. So, I finally had a full allergy testing session. I am not allergic to one thing, and yes I had the little control spot done to make sure the test is done right.

I was not breastfed- and am pretty healthy as a 30 year old Cfer goes. I do have mild allergies to stuff like ragweed and pollen, though I haven't been officially tested for that.

All the data shows that breastfeeding does give a leg up on health, but it certainly isn't the only criteria. My son was only breastfed 2 months and he had several ear infections as a baby. My daughter is 14 months and still nursing and has nary had a cold - but who can truly say if it's all related? I like to think it will pay off for her in the end (but I also like to think I haven't harmed my son too badly with the soy formula he took for 10 months of his life!)

I was a formula baby. There have been studies to show specifically how important it is to breastfeed CFers. I was a "healthy" CFer up until my mid twenties. I've settled in a somewhat fragile state now, FEV1 is 1.57 L on a good day.

I did breastfeed my twins for six months. They got their first cold at 10 months and are particularly healthy children. They stay home with me though, so the exposure to germs has been limited until they started preschool last August, but that is only a grand total of 5 hours a week. They do not have CF though, so I'm not sure how this helps your poll Faust. LOL

I drank breast milk, but it wasn't my mom's. I was two months premature, and the doctor suggested that she breastfeed me.. However, she had already taken the hormones to keep her from producing milk .. or something like that... . So a family friend who just had a baby bottled milk for us and sent to our house.

Overall, I think I've been pretty healthy considering my CF.
