How many of you were breastfed?

I was bf'ed until 5 mo. when I had a head cold and according to mom I couldn't breath and breastfeed. I'm at the 5 mo. mark bf'ing my son who has a-typical cf.

When we found out Isaac had 2 cf mutations and I talked with my lactation consultant she mentioned there are more and more cases of cfers becoming symptomatic when they are wheened. Coincidence?

well, my story to add to the discussion. I was my mother's fifth child, each of them before me was breastfed (counter to the advice of doctors BTW) for some period of time. I started with breast milk, too, for a week or more. I had a lot of screaming belly pain, so the doctors told my mother "It must be your milk" and advised her to wean me, alas! At least I got the colostrum. My mother always worried that "something she did" caused me to be so sick all of my life - unlike my four siblings.
My diagnosis did not come until the year after my mother died. sigh.
