how often do you vacuum?

I was forever buying electric brooms to take care of the hair and dander on the hard surfaces -- would usually sweep up the larger particles first, but I didn't like emptying the dust cup and having it fly all over. I have an older Riccar upright with hepa filter and a few years ago I purchased the hardwood floor kit. Basically a really long hose with an electric broom sort of attachment. It's a breeze to use and I seem to get up a lot more stuff with it.

I'm planningto buy a newer model as DH has been using my vacuum to clean up some the construction dust -- changes the bags afterwards, but it has been taking a beating.

I do not vacuum enough for sure. I have way too much carpet in my house. It takes me over an hour to vacuum the whole house. Bad excuse I know, but I thought I'd be honest.

People who don't vacuum very often probably won't respond soo... I'll represent them. I don't vacuum much. I work full time and I'm in AF Reserves - I'd rather spend my free time playing with the kids than cleaning the house. Also, my husband and I are firm believers in exposure to dirt and germs builds a strong immune system ... so we're building very strong immune systems in our kids.

Sweeping and mopping the kitchen is about the only floors I do regularly. The kids don't seem to be suffering for it. They don't have allergies and rarely get sick.
