What we can control is how we use our feelings, but I think we should be able to express them, especially here, without criticism.</end quote></div>

Here here!

I agree that I should be able to express my thoughts without others critizing my opinions.</end quote></div>

Amy-
I think you are missing the point. The only person criticizing anyone was you. Ughh.

Yes, absolutely, I meant that Amy should be able to express her feelings and not receive criticism. No is to blame if everyone is not to blame. I do think sometimes Amy should reevaluate her approach. Does anyone really benefit from picking apart someone's emotional response to a doctor who offered a fact about the standard life expectancy? Not really. Amy, you seem to me like a very rationally-minded, strong person, which I respect quite a bit. But I don't think it absolutely necessary to psychoanalyze every member of the board. I can understand why Kelli had the reaction she did, and while others react differently, she should be able to say what she felt without censure. And of course it goes both ways. Amy, you should be able to say what you feel when those feeling are not vituperative or meant to call anyone out, unless there is a valid reason for doing so. If we feel the need to malign or doubt the authenticity of others, that is when we should control our feelings, use a little courtesy and hold back. It is fine to be opinionated and logical and to seek perfection within oneself, but we should not project our feelings and opinions onto others. There is nothing wrong with being kind. Kindness and encouragement will get one farther in nearly any situation. But Amy, again, you are absolutely entitled to share your feelings without criticism from others. Like I said, it goes both ways.
Of course, I am relatively new here, and i don't want to step over any boundaries, or on any toes, because I don't know what kinds of relationships you all have with each other. From what I can tell, though, it seems Amy has upset a lot of people on different occasions. I'm not sure if people are just hyper-sensitive, because Amy has built a reputation around herself, or if there is some ulterior intention for Amy's apparent scourge. Maybe Amy, you could address this specifically? Also I'm just curious what makes you an honorary Masshole. Because I am an honorary Maineac ( I lived in Maine for 4 years) and that is definitely what we used to call people from Massachusetts<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> Not that there is anything wrong with those from Massachusetts, of course, except that they used to clog traffic on 95 during the summer in Maine.

When Aidan was diagnosed, his CF doc never told me what he was expected to live to. It was 32 at the time. I just don't think they do that anymore. Yeah we get the stats but nowadays (Warwick and Aidan's doc) tell me that Aidan should surpass any age limit given today. Warwick told me father and grandfather stages! Doctors don't knwo everything.

Well said! It is a shame when a relatively new person comes onto this site and is attacked, do they really want to stay on this site? There are all kinds to make the world go round and some people just need to stand out. They get their attention while trying to hurt others because inside themselves, they are hurting so much. The ole saying, Misery loves company is very appropriate for these individuals. If this site were allowed to vote as a group, the attention seekers would have been voted off CFSURVIVOR along time ago.
