I don't mean this to be negative at all I'm just wondering if anyone else feels this way..

<begin quote>Originally posted by: Opi I'm very thankful for the life I have/have been given but I'm just ready to turn in, I'm not going to win this battle ya know?</end quote>

There's a verse you might want to consider, first. "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one recieves the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we are imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified" 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

I'm pretty sure this is what moxie was getting at up there as well. Anyway, not too long ago I was thinking sort of the same thing you are now. If you're interested, you can read about it here: http://c-mockingbird.com/hospital.html

Also, there is the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19: 4-8: "Elijah went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, 'It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers.' He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, 'Arise, eat.' Then he looked and behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. The angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, 'Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you.' So he arose and ate and drank, and went on the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God."

The journey may be too difficult for us, but that doesn't mean God wants us to give up. You say you're not going to win, but Jesus Christ has already won the battle for us and He desires us to have that victory not in some far-off place, but here and now, in this life as well as the next.

Anyway, sorry for the sermon, but I really dig this stuff, you know?
