i agree about if i need the abx i will take them. i'm not opposed to taking them if colds turn into infection, but in the same respect, oral abx no longer work for me, so this is a pretty big decision to do every time i get a cold.

i have a clinic appt. next week weds. and will see what they want to do.

i did try the saline rinse tonight and have to say it felt really good. i don't seem to be blowing my nose as much tonight.

i vaccumed the house and dusted and ran with O2 tonight and all went ok. i really want to try to nip this thing on my own if i can.

i'm moving up tons of gunk and still have lots of energy, so those things in and of themselves lead me to think its not abx time.

i will keep everyone posted though. feel free to email anymore suggestions or thoughts. i do appreciate it!!

i've been in a situation once or twice where i felt that i had a lung infection that just wouldn't quit. i dealt with it by going on loooooooong runs through the country...by the end my body forced my lungs to start hacking stuff up! also i recommend (you probably know this already) GET LOTS OF REST!!! just take a day or two to completely pamper yourself, stay in bed, read, and cook yourself amazing high calorie and healthy meals! finally, make sure you take your vitamins--ADEK but also the Omega 3's, Vitamin D and any other antiinflammatories you can think of. Eventually, i got over the problem, but in the back of my mind i did wonder if the better thing would've been to just go to the doctor!

Okay.... So I hate to totally change the subject on you, but it seems everyone has your cold covered. I would do the exact same thing: do the sinus rinses and talk to your doc next week at clinic.

So, my question is, did you say your husband is deploying? Does that mean he's active duty military? Do you have Tri-Care? I just wanted to vent with someone else who has to deal with them and don't know anyone else with CF who has to deal with the military insurance.

I am in the Southern region and don't get me wrong, they're not terrible, it's just such a pain to get some referrals so I wondered what others experiences are like.
