I actually a patient of the doctor that originally studied this interaction. It has been confirmed in this study as well as several others in the past decade.

However, if you look at the annual patient registry report still less than 10% of the population of CF patients are using this course of therapy because of the potential negative side effects which are actually pretty infrequent.

I have been on the high dose IBU therapy for the past 5 years and my FEV1 has done nothing but increase. I would encourage people to investigate this option.
