Hi Becstar,
Okay, I just wasn't too sure what your initial question was.
I was on the birth control pill for 10 years. I was first put on it when I was 12-13 years old because of a severe ovary cyst that never dissolved on it own.
Many times I was approached about the shot, ring, and other stuff, but (for me) they wouldn't help keep the cyst under control so I always ended up staying on the pill.
My personal feelings about the shot were that I just couldn't sit right with the thought of only getting a period every 3 months or something like that. Hey, I would love getting fewer periods - TRUST ME. I just didn't feel it was right??? I guess that's the best way to put it. I did know someone who was on the shot for a few years, and she said you had to be very accurate with the timings of the shot. She DID get pregnant once while on it and delivered her only son. When she finally did come off of it, her periods were very abnormal for months. She thought maybe she was pregnant twice even though they were using condoms because her periods were 2 weeks late or more. She even saw her GYNO, but she wasn't in the end. She even didn't want to be pregnant again because she was trying to finish her technical school program and move out of her parents' house. Her boyfriend was a bum, who she later dumped after 3 years. I don't know how she is doing today. That was 6 years ago...
