i wasn't induced and the idea was never brought up to me either. although i went into labor on my own at 35 weeks. aj's doing fine now, he did spend the first 8 days in the nicu. he had rapid breathing the first few days, but then couldn't keep any formula down. he's a healthy 22lbs now! oh he was 6lbs at birth! i say unless you are having health issues to anyone don't induce just because!

I have been told that the plan will be for me to give birth at 37 weeks (if I don't need to be induced beforehand due to interuterine growth restriction or go into labour earlier naturally).

Here in the UK anything from 37 weeks is considered term and I think that because my lung function is only 50% they don't want to put my body under any more strain than it needs to be.

My sister doesn't have CF but is carrying twins and has been told to expect to have them at 37 weeks also (again because they will be full term and staying in there longer could cause problems).

However if you are really healthy and not having any problems in late pregnancy, I can't see why they would insist on induction at 36 weeks as I'd have thought the longer the babies are inside you (providing you and they are well) the better?
