is it that uncommon for compressors to stop working?

I just need to know for my own sanity if it is terribly uncommon for neb compressors to stop pumping out enough air. I've been trying to deal with the company for over a week... and I can't get them to believe there's actually something wrong with the compressor. It is easy enough to tell... usually if you don't connect the hose on tight enough, it just flies off, lately I can barely touch the hose to the neb and it stays attatched. Also, it's been taking almost an hour to administer the pulmozyme (took about 15 min when compressor was new last year). I'm sorry, I guess I just need to vent. I just find it so incredibly frustrating that they won't listen to me!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0">

We had issues with our original pari proneb ultra -- treatment times took forever from day one. We just didn't know any better at the time. Have you looked at the manufacturers site or the paperwork that came with the machine to see about a warranty? I believe most have 3-5 year warranties.

As for the hose popping off, I've noticed that DS' will do that once in awhile. Once I had a couple faulty neb cups. Are they the reusable ones and are you sterilizing them (boiling) after each use. Sometimes meds, especially tobi can gum up the tiny little holes in the neb cups. Do you have hard water? Prior to getting a new water softener, we'd get calcium deposits on the neb cups, so prior to washing and boiling, I'd soak them briefly in vinegar.

we haven't had any problems with the neb cups but we just replaced them because the compressor people wouldn't even talk to me about a compressor problem until I replaced them... even after they sent me brand new ones, they still seem to think the problem must be a faulty neb cup or tubing. I've been hoping that they're giving me a hard time about the compressor because nothing ever goeas wrong with them... at least I'd prefer to think that over they're just a miserable company.

does your compressor have a filter? sometimes that can get clogged, or some medicine (sticky kind) can get caught up in the hole
