How is her breathing? Is she working harder or contracting? What is her resp. rate? Like the others have said I would go with my gut & just ask for an admit...doesnt sound like shes gonna get better on oral antis. I know its not what ya wanna hear, but its probably whats best for her.

Its hard to tell with Reece when to bring him in too. His activity level never goes down, when he slows down on eating or starts having a hard time breathing & has a wet cough, that when we know its time to go in.

Let us know & hope you find some answers soon<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

UPDATE -- yeah, they want her in. We're being admitted in the morning. Its such a disconnect to see a perfectly healthy looking kiddo, who has no visible symptoms besides a cough that has lasted 22 days despite two antibiotics. She has so much energy its gonna be hard to keep her entertained. Any suggestions????

Lots of books, coloring/craft activities, dvds. They should have a child life person who can bring in games or activities. DS used my laptop to play computer games from the cartoon network website. He didn't feel very good for most of his stay, so it wasn't 'til near the end that it became more difficult to keep him occupied. They did have a WII and provided volunteers a couple times to play video games with him since I'm not a very good player.

Hope she's feeling better soon!

I'm sorry, Heather. That is a bummer. Will you be able to come home with your picc, or do you stay inpatient the entire time?
