Stephan's mom:

Welcome to the site. I'm so sorry to hear about your son, but it sounds like he fought the good fight.

As far as working from home... I do legal trascription from home very very part time. I could not maintain my health and go to graduate school (though I do plan on going back to finish someday when we're more stable... DH is military) and also had a tough time working even part time in the outside work. I was sick a lot and really run down and did NOT workout and eat like I should have. I now love working from home. BUT, I don't make a whole lot of money doing it.

Anyway, if you want more info, feel free to PM.

Have you considered filing for social security disability? You can still earn a couple hundred a month (reported) or work at home "under the table" but I would look into applying for SSDI before your work credits/amount become an issue.</end quote></div>

I'm with Julie here. I worked full time for years, took a few years off, then worked part time & darned near shot myself in the foot when I applied for SSDI because I didn't have enough "Job credits" under part time work to qualify for SSDI (I didn't make enough money each quarter).
Luckily, I had plenty of medical records that went back a couple of years that showed I was disababled by their standards close to the time I had worked full time so I was able to use those full time job credits.

I'm similar, I was working at a Call Center until last August when I had a major health change (on the ventilator for a week!) since I was only part-time no short-term or long-term disability for me I had to quit and since I haven't recovered enough yet to work and it will still be quite awhile before I can even think about it! So I am looking for a home job as well.

I just stumbled upon this website -- from what I've read, and another website that directed me there (who also check out the legitimacy of the site) it all looks on the up and up to me.

They say they have listing of over 1000 work from home jobs - none of them are scams and none of them ask for you to pay for something up front. These all seem like "real" work from home jobs and they are very varied - looks like there is something for everyone. Like they say on their site, if you cannot find something you want to do, chances are you need to re-evaluate if you really do want to work from home or not.

Check it out for yourselves

Happy job hunting everyone !!

Oh, and I think they charge something like $40 for a full year of having access to all their job listings. -- seemed pretty reasonable to me.
