So, I watched the movie Jack and Jill vs. the World. I liked it. Course It was a little cheesey, but I like cheese. It's about a free-spirited girl with CF, she fall in love with and uptight gorgeous Freddie Prince jr. I thought the actress did well, portraying a young woman with CF. Course, she was never seen doing the VEST only CPT once in the hospital. She shares a room with a younger Cf girl in the hospital, too(So not realistic at all) The movie had a grat message about life though. Course I kept crying, though the movie really was uplifting. Anyway, good chick flick!

The first time I was hospitalized, I was 15 and in a room with an 8 year old cystic. There also used to be cf camps (and there is actually still an adult cf retreat, you just have to get medical clearance, proving you haven't cultured MRSA or Cepacia).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. I could give two $hits about Freddie Prinze Jr. I'm more excited to see how Taryn Manning portrays a cystic

I saw the movie through Netflix too. I'm so glad that someone made a movie raising awareness about CF. I thought there were some good, realistic aspects of the movie and other parts weren't done very well. Overall, it got the word out to people that have never heard of CF before, which is GREAT. It was definitely an indescribable experience watching a movie about a person who has the same disease that I do. I wanted to see it so badly, but at the same time was admittedly scared to watch it. I really liked the way that Taryn Manning portrayed the characters zest for living life. I just didn't particularly think that some of the specifics of the CF challenges were expressed accurately (i.e. no breathing treatments, no vest therapy, just a cough here and there, only a day or two in the hospital for a clean out/illness). BUT, I do think that people should check it out for themselves and see what they think
