Kidney Failure

I don't believe my current team has ever told me directly. I understood peak and troughs to "be sure I'm at therapudic levels" but not necessarily that I could be at risk. It's good to know. I've been on tobra a lot and have diabetes, so this is something for me to remember - especially since some doctors have let their patients fall through the holes....we have to be on top of it. However, I do know sometimes they check my urine - so that may be part of them checking - dunno. I just assumed it had to do with my diabetes. Boy, it sure would be nice if the dr's explained they whys of things. I assume too much.

My team has never told me directly about kidney failure and IVs, but I do know that when I'm on Tobra, my kidneys do hurt. My doctor has suggested that the next time I'm in the joint, that I'll be getting regular urine tests to make sure things are a-ok.

to my understanding the peak and trough are as follows. the trough is drawn before the medicine is admistered to see how much is left in your system and the peak is to see how much medicine is actually in your system about 30 min after the medicine has been given. if i'm wrong someone correct me please!
