Lemons have been proven to help remove toxins from the liver. So suck that piece next time it comes on your salad or with your tea LOL!

I did not know this until after the fact. It also lowers blood pressure within minutes. I had a meal a few days ago that was marinated in lemon juice and my pressure dropped to 99/60 when I am usually 110-68

I felt light headed and took my pressure<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I love lemon drinks. GREAT IDEA

I just found this out too, so can it be lemon in any form? or straight lemon juice? Like would lemonade work? I'm a little worried about my liver right now so I need to go get some lemons.

i would think lemons in any form (as long as its real lemon)... i love lemons and use to eat them by themselves until i was told that the concentrated acid is very hard on teeth... i enjoy my teeth so i quit but i still drink lemon water quite often...

honey and lemon is nice, we always have it when we have a cold.

Also cold water with lemon is something I like as well <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

When I was younger I would eat a whole lemon, I would get it into wedges and then roll it in sugar <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

definitely not good for teeth but yummy though and you could just brush your teeth straight after.

Its funny you have put this subject here Jazzy's Mum, I have been researching the health properties of fruit too <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Pineapple is good for digestion as it has bromelade (sp) in it, its a natural enzyme <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

It just goes to show that the cf diet should include high fat, sugar, salt ect.. plus fruit and vege's.

which we do anyway, my daughter always seems to want the healthy version of food. and she hates butter lol.

Good topic <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Lemons in tea with honey is indeed a time-tested sore throat remedy. Lemon juice is good for improving the flavor of vegetables--even broccoli! (Too bad it can't stop the flatulence though.)

Lemons contain more than half of the amount of vitamin C that we need to consume in a day. They may also help relieve dry mouth, by stimulating saliva production in response to the acidity.

On the other hand, lemons are so acidic that they may damage tooth enamel. This is especially of concern to people who are on lots of medications that may already be experiencing tooth problems. If you're using lemon zest (a little bit of the peel) in your food, be careful. Don't zest a lemon without rinsing it first, since it may contain trace amounts of fungicide. For this reason it is best to avoid waxed lemons--the wax can trap the chemicals making them very difficult to remove.

Another thing to watch out for in the lemon peel is limonene. This is an oil that occurs naturally in the lemon, and is usually extracted for use in lemon-scented cleaning products. Limonene is potentially an irritant, so if you're sensitive to oils, it's best to wear food handler's gloves when working with lemon.
