Ignore the whole pari trek thing. Look for a pari proneb ultra 2. I got mine on ebay for under 60 bucks. Then you go to radio shack and spend 10 bucks on an adapter that lets you connect your power cord to your car so you can do nebs while you drive around. Looking back, who really needs the ability to do their nebs with absolutely no power source near like the pari trek gives? Unless you are going deep woods camping (and that would only be like one 10 hour period cause you cant recharge your battery), who cares? The only benefit you can get from a pari trek is that there is a battery pack, that i'm sure after an hour or so of nebs, the life goes down to near nothing. So It's technically an emergency useage battery. In my opinion, you are 10,000% better getting a very nice compressor and then spending 10 bucks on an adapter to suit your needs for a car power source. My pari trek is still sitting here broken, and I paid a boatload for the compressor. I basically spent 100 bucks for sterile brand new parts that are MSRP $ for atleast 200 bucks. I'm glad you asked about this AnD. I ask the same question a while back and the only response I got was EFlow. I'm not really interested in that one right now either. I have looked at Omron products. I have a Omron CompAir Elite (Ins Co chose it). It's a good neb to do albuterol with but then again that's all I do with a hand-held neb. I have a travel size DevilBliss, they dont make the exact one I have anymore, but they do have a smaller 4.5 lb version. The only major issue I have had with the Omron CompAir Elite is that the portable battery sucks. It doesnt hold charge for that long. I have replaced the battery 3 times and each time the same thing. The dealer around here told me I am not the only one it happened to, it has happened to just about everyone he knows who has one. Lucky enough it comes with a car adapter. I am currently looking into the Omron MicroAir because it runs off of 2 AA batteries, but havent decided yet. Here are some websites that I found various portable nebs on.

The only major issue I have had with the Omron CompAir Elite is that the portable battery sucks. It doesnt hold charge for that long. I have replaced the battery 3 times and each time the same thing. The dealer around here told me I am not the only one it happened to, it has happened to just about everyone he knows who has one. Lucky enough it comes with a car adapter. I am currently looking into the Omron MicroAir because it runs off of 2 AA batteries, but havent decided yet. Here are some websites that I found various portable nebs on.

I'm glad you asked about this AnD. I ask the same question a while back and the only response I got was EFlow. I'm not really interested in that one right now either. I have looked at Omron products. I have a Omron CompAir Elite (Ins Co chose it). It's a good neb to do albuterol with but then again that's all I do with a hand-held neb. Thanks to you both! I didn't know you could use an adapter with the Pari Pro neb ultra- that's what I have. I will check into that- then I wouldn't have to take 2 compressors with me when I traveled, and would have a backup too.
I will check on the amperage needed and see if I can do that. I have fried an (non medical) air compressor before that way (not to mention the electrical system in my car!!!!) with something that was <i>supposed </i>to work in the cigarrette lighter, so I am, needless to say, a little leery until I know all the facts! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
