For those of you that have broke oyurs or just haven't taken the steps to get one, please dont hesitate. Its so worth it!!!

I hate to see you never get "around to it", and then need it in an emergency.
Take action. I am giving you a kick in the behind LOL!!!!!!!

Yep, I wear my bracelet 24/7. Especially since I'm CFRD and have been known to take hypoglycemic nose dives in public places.

I also have a medical alert tag that I have attached to my purse zipper.

And I typed up an emergency contact card, have it attached to the back of my license and another one in my wallet with my meds listed.

Oh and one more, my cell phone. I have all my emergency #'s listed under 'Emergency' and a 'home' & 'husband' listing.

I know, I'm anal! But at least anyone will be able to figure out who to contact.

I got Courtney one a few years back but she would not wear it because she said it was embarrasing.

Just last night I was on ebay ordering Courtney some belly rings when I came across some really cute medical alert replacement bracelets.

They are changable strands of beads that hook to the metal alert plate. You can change them to match your outfits.

Courtney said she would wear that so I am going to order some, or maybe make some myself.

Here are some examples. They are really cute.

you got a "cheapy" $89 one? i guess it costs a lot for the service that comes with it. i got one years ago and didn't want to skimp b/c i thought i'd have it forever. mine is sterling silver, trim, not too different looking than an ordinary bracelet. people sometimes compliment me on it as if it were a bracelet. i think i paid $50-$60 for it. i really like it. i can't remember the company.

mine just says my name/diabetes/cystic fibrosis/on insulin

i thought about giving a number for my doctor, but like i said, i wanted to keep this forever so i wanted it to be generic enough that it didn't become irrelevant.
