victoria i'm kinda surprised you can't go to hawaii. although i only know where the army base is and the marine base. they are both on oahu and there is a cf accredited center on oahu. granted it's only for military, but there is one there. it's on the army base there. hawaii is actually one of the places that i think we are going to try to get stationed at some point because i've been there before and it's just beautiful and the marine base is on oahu so it would work out for us. as for moving near orlando, i think the closest clinic would be uf? i'm not 100% sure, but i know uf has a clinic. that would be helpful to be around family. we are currently 500 miles from home and family and i've had two rounds of iv's (luckly) and only one hospital stay, but it was still hard not to have family around. and someone mentioned on here already about tricare prime. all you have to do is get a referral to a cf center. there aren't many military hospitals that have cf care available. anyways as you probably already know when you move you are going to have to switch the region of tricare you are in. right now i'm probably assuming your in the west and moving to florida you would be placed in the south region. it's an easy process, once you get to your new station you go into the tricare office and tell them that you need to switch your regions. then they will assign you a primary care doctor, i have one and i've seen him twice in two years. the primary care doctor will submit the request for a referral and you will recieve a piece of paper in the mail showing your referral and to where and all that jazz. then you can just call and make an appt at the cf clinic and your set!
