Mucus viscosity

I am just wondering if it's normal for chest mucus to be really really sticky, or if it depends on the person and how severe their lung disease is?

For myself, mine is really really sticky. So sticky that if i get it on my hand or anything it sticks to the point where running it under water doesn't work. I have to sit there and wait for it to loosen itself from my skin.

Is that normal is there no such thing as 'normal' when it comes to this? Thanx!

I don't know- mine can be sticky, but I don't know if it's that sticky. Are you drinking plenty of water, and avoiding a lot of caffeine?

Mine can get like that. I think its normal for the most part. It happens when I am more dehydrated &/or if I havent taken my Pulmozyme.

Hubby jokes that we should market it as the next super glue.

Mine changes depending on the day, the time of day, what I've been doing, what meds I'm taking, etc etc etc. Very often, yes, it gets so sticky that even putting it under running water doesn't help. Sometimes I'll use a little Dixie cup to spit into (especially when doing HTS), and when I'm done, I run it under the faucet (yes, I throw it away, but I don't want to put a whole wad of goo in the trash if I can put it down the drain), and it takes actual scraping to get it to let go of the cup. Even on full faucet "blast". Heh.

We're all so shexay. Ha!
