Forgive my possible ignorance here, but wouldn't any President's health care plan have to go through the House and Senate? What is the likelihood that either of the candidates plans would get through that? Just because a candidate has a "plan" doesn't mean it is ever going to happen. Or am I in la la land?</end quote></div>

Very good point! Especially if the House & Sentate are controlled by the other party.......

I haven't really noticed their talk on HC, but now that the economy is where it is because of WaMu etc., I am indeed curious about what this wil do with hc.

This is the exact argument that my husband has been making and I think it is something to think about. Alas you can say that about any policy that a candidate throws out there that you don't like or even one you do. But I don't believe in voting for a candidate based only on his/her image as it remains after all the mudslinging, I'd rather like to think that the policies they set out are at least an indication of what is important to them and what issues they would like to orchestrate changes for. Its my only view to see if the candidate is at least partially in line with my own concerns.

So will the McCain or Obama plan be law in the coming years? I doubt it!!! But it still matters to me what those plans are.

i agree mommafirst, jazzysmom, and angelsmom. just because the candidate has a plan doesn't mean it will get through house and senate. we talk a lot of this in school since we are fresh on our government legislation and the creating of laws. for example people argue that palin will make it illegal for abortions in the cases of rape but a vice president is not going to be the sole reason for a serious law like that. i agree that just because a candidate has an opinion and a plan doesn't mean that it will happen, which is the power of democracy!
