Parents of tweenagers

Where do parents go to discuss health concerns for tweenagers.
Sam just came home from his ENDO appointment, he decided to pull the plug on his insulin pump, he has NO FAT to put the sites in and it was painful due to hitting muscle. He is growing staph in his lungs and 10 days of Cipro has not cleared his horrendous cough. We go back to the CF team next Thusrday.
I am feeling the stress of poor health, and lack of motivation in Sam to help with his own health care issues. Poor attendance at school is adding to the stress of educational needs. What do other parents do to motivate their children and encourage independance both in health care and education.

I wish I knew how to get my daughter who is 11, going on 12 in a couple of months, to be more idenpendent with her health care. I did get her to gain more weight, however she got sick during the two snow storms we just had and now has a bad cough. We are going to the clinic at the end of this week as well.

I just stopped caring about what the teachers and the pricipal say about her attendance record, becuase we have the 504 Plan. Even though we have it, we are still bugged about the attendence. I told them I don't need any added stress. My daughter's grades are outstanding and that's all the matters.
