there is some great info on infection control in cf. i am also guessing that when there is still alot of med in the nebulizer cup after 30 mins..there is probably a clog somewhere. i would recommend boiling the nebiluzer after every use and then let the parts air dry; the only way to insure proper sterilization.

boiling tips:
make sure the water is rolling before placeing the neb pieces in.
use a lid, 5 to 10 mins.
thats how my mom does it every time.

What about the compressor filter? Is it dirty? If it hasn't been changed ever, or in the last six months it can slow down the process.

hmm, im not sure how to check the filter, but we've only had it for 3 months or so now. i am currently doing one of his CPTs so we'll see how long it takes with a new cup.

I will also BOIL the cups after every use as recommended by Robert! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I wasnt aware that they were safe to boil, but I am happy to do that if it'll be best for my baby boy! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have also bookmarked that site you provided! Good information to know as a new cf mom.
