Wow, I hadn't even read this thread and now I'm not sure I'm glad I did!
I'd already seen the video on YouTube and personally hadn't thought much of it. I didn't question whether it was fake, I just watched it and saw a fellow CFer.
Jason and his supporters -- try not to be upset by some people's reactions on this board. Living with CF is an extremely difficult thing to do and this causes stress, anger, all kinds of emotions which sometimes come out when we are reminded of our own lives and mortality. Nearly everyone here would have gone through most of the things Jason has. Many people post daily about declines in their health, financial constraints, insurance problems, being listed for transplant. So these are issues close to people's hearts, which means it is very easy to get emotional. Most of the time it is not personal, just a build up of personal issues! [I am guilty of doing this often, so I'm not blaming anyone!]
This is a bigger deal than everyone is making it out to be. I'm sure some more tact on both sides would have been appropriate. If you're going to ask questions, it's best to be respectful about it. And when asked questions, they should be answered respectfully.
Everyone take a deep breath and smile! Some people have been positive about the whole thing, so remember those instead of the negatives.
Ok, off my soapbox now.
