people who use cf to make money

Since Jason's not responding to my offers for help, maybe you will on his behalf. I'd be happy to work with him regarding medical, GHPP and social security. YOu can ask aroudn this site, I've helped 5 other CFers win an SSA case AFTER being denied, WITHOUT the help of a lawyer. I'm FREEEEEEEE, I don't cost a dime. But if he doesn't want this type of help and ONLY wants money.... I'm going to be honest in saying I'm a bit suspicious.

Well, I might have chosen to respond to this privately, but since you publicly basically called me a liar, I am going to post publicly. I find it curious that because I chose to check up on whether Jason's claim of CF was real - <b>with information he provided by the way</b> - that I am being villified <img src="i/expressions/devil.gif" border="0"> just because you cannot believe that they gave me the info.


I called this afternoon, spoke with a woman. Asked if Dr. Jeffrey Kraut was indeed a part of that practice. Said I was checking out the validity of someone who had set-up a website asking for money based on his CF. She asked who the patient was. I said Jason Coverston. She said he had been a patient when he was a child. I asked if he indeed was treated for CF and why he was not being seen at a CF clinic. She said he had been seen at UCSF's CF clinic.


Now, I do not believe that they should have told me that. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> However, Jason himself has a letter on his site from this doctor as a testimony to his claims of CF and need for money. And if you read on one of his posts on this thread, he talks about calling his doctor and obtaining his home phone and address so that we could come see for ourselves.



So, EVERYBODY BACK OFF FROM THE MESSENGER!!!!!


Something still DOES NOT FEEL RIGHT!


There I have said my peace. I have been lurking around on this site for nearly 6 months, and genuinely appreciate the info and insight and care that everyone seems to have for each other. Now, apparently this site is not any nicer than some of the others I have been part of!

I just wanted to add that I just spoke with Jason and he is absolutely crushed. He put up his site to be a refrence for people with CF, and to be attacked and degraded by those same people has been devestating.

I want to remind those of you that have said extreamly hurtful things all that he is not running for president or asking to be the representative for all people with CF. Some of you have put him under a microscope as if he were running for president.

I have to say I am truely suprised and put off by this behavior.

NO he put himself under the microscpe, how is he planning on helping others when he can't even help himself. And what kind of reference is he to anyone, he is not even educated about CF.

Again - I say to Bethie u did nothing wrong nor prob did anyone else in his old doctors office since he posted the letter and gave permission for the doctor to answer questions.

I would love to help Jason, he needs some kind of help i'm sure of, or this whole thing would have never gotten this blown up, but no one knows what kind of help he needs

Tell him to be more clear, tell him to be more specific, tell him to get his facts straight, and then possibly people won't suspect him of being fraudulent. If you're going to put yourself out there by making *your own* site and/or foundation (or anything of the like), you need to know what you're talking about if you don't want to get slammed.

As for the president comparison... Bush is a moron who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about half the time, and look at how much everyone hates him. Similar idea. I don't hate the kid, but if he's going to be out there telling people about CF, he should know the subject on which he's speaking *<u>thoroughly and correctly</u>* if he doesn't want this kind of attention.

Since Jason asked for that letter to be written for public reasons, I do not see anything wrong with the doctors office varifying their letter. Maybe I read something wrong as I am tired and its late.

Once you go public, you are no longer a private person and a doctor can mention your name. He is not allowed to disclose personal info about you but if you have written a book or are in the news or have a website, a doctor can mention your name. I do not see any harm done.
