The positive result was a surprise. My daughter is 2.5 and has only really had one cold. I nursed her until she was 2 and soon after bowel issues began. She is in a good weight precentile but has started losing. She craves salt and will pass up any sweet treat if chips or fries are on offer.
We did all the blood and fecal tests and all were neg. The sweat test read 78.
The doctor said - could mean she is a carrier (which I have read is wrong)
Everyone is trying to make me feel like it could be wrong but 78 is really high, isn't it?
My older daughter gets a long cough after every cold and has been kept up by coughing on many nights, tonight is one. She had a winter full of coughs after she weaned and ended up in ER with croup. They gave her an oral steroid.
She also has big BMs but I did not pay as much attention because she was toilet trained and went to the bathroom on her own.
I worked as a voulunteer for CF foundation as a kid because freinds were affected, I know of no family that has had it.
I really want a straight answer. Is there really any chance this high result was wrong?
